Southern Charm

Oh, how I love the South, Savannah Georgia that is!!  I found the beautiful, charmful, and hospitality I had always heard the south had, in Savannah.  We spent Saturday night in Savannah, and we toured the historic downtown on Sunday via a trolley.  It was a beautiful day, we saw the famous Forsyth Fountain, dined at The Old Pirates House (which was part of the inspiration of the book Treasure Island) , and  we had a taste of true southern cuisine.   We walked along the river, and enjoyed the beautiful historic buildings Savannah offers.  The streets were beautiful as well.  I even found myself dreaming of being a southern belle, but only in Savannah.

Let the VACATION begin!

For spring break we took a much needed vacation.  I checked all the kids out of school about 15 minutes early, and then we went to pick Dad up from work and we were on our way out of the state.  We spent our first night in Atlanta.  The next morning we felt like opening up some "Happiness" so we toured the Coca Cola Museum.  It was a lot of fun the kids enjoyed trying the huge variety of soda from around the world.  We also spent the afternoon at the Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.

A Day With Princesses

At the end of March Eden and I went to watch Princesses on Ice, at Rupp Arena.  Eden's BFF Ava and her Mom pleasured us with their company.  The little princesses had a grand afternoon of pampering.  They paraded around in their new princess gowns, and even had  their nails done with fancy polka dots, while the moms had pedicures. The princess arrived to the show in their horse drawn carriage (today some people might call it a Jeep), right as the show began.  After the show  the dinner party began.  We dined at DeSha's.  As dinner came to an end we  returned to our carriage for a beautiful ride in the snow back to our castles.  The princesses had both drifted off to a land of sweet dreams.  It is a lot of work to be a princess after all.

Houston's First Grade Performance

March was also Houston's performance, "Earthworms Make America Great"  he was a lot of fun to watch.  He also had the last line of the performance.  Don't forget to notice the great back drop and the t-shirts.  There was a lot of time t into this performance.

5th Grade Fieldtrip

March also included Brodie's field trip to thee old State Capital and the Kentucky History Museum in Frankfort.   I received a day of Kentucky history, which I guess I need to know especially since I have been in Kentucky for four years, and still no sign of returning west (yet).

Last Elementary School Choir Concert

Activities are starting to slow down for Brodie.  His last elementary school concert was March 24.  He and Joseph had a joint solo (I guess that makes it a duet).  They  did a great job and Brodie did just fine being the center of attention.  I recorded the solo, but someone has deleted it (I think Brodie had something to do with it).   Notice the cute backdrop, I'll  never not notice the little details like that again it is crazy how much time simple ideas can take.

The Green Guys Stopped By!!!

The little leprechauns stopped by again this year.  They somehow managed to show up while we were all at school and dad was at work.  They knew better than to mess up the house like they did the kids classrooms at school.  They did leave us a few green treats and some gold!!!  Houston gathered up all the gold that smelled like peanut butter, and did not plan to share with anyone.

Read Across America

Last week we had fun activities all week at Northern Elementary to celebrate Dr.Seuss' birthday.  Friday was dress like a Dr. Seuss character.  Eden was so excited to be Cindy Lou so she could wear her Christmas dress again.  Brodie and Houston went as Thing 1 and Thing 2.  I didn't miss out on the fun either, I was a Whovillian too.

Radio Disney Dance Party

Northern Elementary won a Radio Disney Fit and Active contest for Kentucky.  The prize was Radio Disney came to the school and hosted a Disney Dance Party.  It was  a lot of fun, this was one of the perks of being at the school a lot, I got to be a part of the Disney Dance Party (anyone who knows me, knows about my passion for  anything Disney) .  Houston was moving and grooving the whole time.

I"ve Returned....

I've returned to the blogging  world, well at least for a few minutes tonight.  Hopefully, I can go back and update some of the many events that have been happening.
