All State Choir

Brodie and Joseph at the Galt House Hotel
Brodie at the concert
Brodie  also spent the last few months prepare for his All Stat eChoir performance.  He tried out for Kentucky All State  Children's choir, and thanks to an amazing choir teacher he made it ( I guess he has talent too). He was very excited we were shocked because this family, with the exception of Brodie is not talented in this area maybe another child will shock us with musical talent one day in the future too. There were over 650 children who tried out, and Brodie and Joseph a friend from church were two of the three children chosen from our county.  So Brodie and Mom went to Louisville for two days and stayed at the Galt House Hotel, which is right on the river in  the middle of downtown Louisville.  It was a lot of fun, and the concert was amazing.  Brodie, and Mom are hoping he makes it again so we can go again next year.

Basketball

February was the end of basketball season for us. Caylor played tough and improved a lot, and had fun playing on the Mavericks. Brodie played for the Heat and his team won the Championship.  The last few games were very intense, but a lot of fun.  The games came down to the last seconds Brodie made the winning shot in a couple of the playoff games.

Quick January Update

January was very busy around here with a lot of snow days, which here in Kentucky means NO SCHOOL.  The kids missed 12 or 13 days of school I lost track (I was keeping up with it).  They  went to school an hour late and two hours late another day.  One day in January I looked out and we had eight deer in the yard, the next day we were at the   big hill sledding.  I love having children, they sometimes  force you to have fun.   We spent about 3 hours sledding one day.  The hill is pretty big Eden was scared, but slowly made it up to the very top and loved it!  She had to have Mom on the sled with her,  I forgot how fun sledding on a real hill was, thanks for reminding me Eden.  Eden only walked up about three feet at first, and was shocked that she didn't really slide (even though Mom had informed her she wouldn't move).   She then went a little farther up maybe six feet, and she slid a little bit and enjoyed it, I would walk a little bit farther up  each time, soon we were half way up the hill and the next thing we knew we were at the top. We even got air on the way down and she didn't care.  Anyone who knows Eden knows this is shocking that she made it that far up, even more shocking that she loved it, and went to the top over and over again.

Congratulations Brodie

Brodie made the Kentucky  All State Children's Choir.  This is where children all over the state audition and only a few make it.  Over 600 children tried out and only three in our county made it.  Brodie was one of them, and our friend Joseph that we go to church with made it too. He doesn't have any musically talented parents that help him.  The only thing they may help him with is to know what not to sound like. He will perform in Louisville in Feb.  Congratulations Brodie we are proud of you.  His winter concert is this Thursday.

A Miracle

It feels like a miracle because the grass was dusted with snow Thursday and Friday and school was not cancelled.  We even had a few inches this weekend, and the kids were shocked when I woke them up for school today.

Eden's Hair

Here are some cute pictures of Eden and her hair last week.  Her hair is so long I love it, I wish mine matched hers.  However, it is getting a little tricky to do her hair because it is so long (it is to her bum these days).  We still try to be creative with her hair.  I really like to have it up so no bugs, or glue or anything get in it, but every now then she really wants to leave it down.

Girls Having Fun

Last week before school started Eden was able to have her good friend Ava come over.  They had already decided that they wanted matching fingers.  When Ava came over I was finishing Eden's hair.  The girls decided they wanted to have the same hair too, with two braids and curls. So I tried my best with the different lengths and textures.  They both ended up with two braids and curls, they also decided right before we were to leave for school that they needed a headband ribbon too.  They also wanted  decided that they wanted there fingernails painted purple with pink polka dots.  I tried to convince them to go for red and green with white polka dots for the Christmas season, but they didn't like that idea.  They had a lot of fun it is great that Eden has such great friends and one that loves all the girlie things like she does.

My Princess

Eden loves her princess Belle dress, it is the dress she will always put on Sunday for church very happily.  Christi gave it to her when she was two and we have managed to fit into it still (it is a size 3 and most of her dresses are 6 and 7's these days).  She wanted pictures because she knows it won't fit much longer, and I have looked, but have not found a replacement dress that would pass the Eden approval.  She knows she is beautiful.

Trip to Las Vegas

I felt so lucky to be able to go visit my sister her husband and my new niece McKenna right before Thanksgiving.  I loved my visit.  We enjoyed walks, Pilates, and even Cafe Rio, and just time together.  There is nothing like I sister.  I was also lucky that my parents came to visit too.  Baby McKenna is such a sweet beautiful baby, I loved cuddling with her and getting to know her.  Christi also treated us to pedicures, thank you so much.  I can't wait to see you guys again too.

Football Champs

Caylor's team won the football championship. They honored them at the high school football game.  They also had a potluck banquet for them, and they received a trophy and hoodie.  Wait to go "Killer"!
