The Kentucky Derby is a really big deal here, like the Superbowl. During the week leading up to the Derby, even most of the activities at the kids school are all about the horses that will be in the big race. TV coverage is on every channel and is on 24/7 the day of the race.
So we decided that in order to truly be Kentuckians, we need to find a way to celebrate the big day (we also had to fill some cub scout family activity requirements). So, we have come up with the 1st Annual Family Derby Contest. Here are the rules:
- Each immediate family member drew a horse's name from a bowl (except for Houston because he had to make a picture of "Monba" at school this week, so he gets Monba).
- Each extended family unit had a horse drawn for them
- The highest finisher of the the immediate family gets a undetermined prize (but not a video game says mom)
- The highest finisher of the extended family gets a Kentucky Care basket.
Find your name on the picture below to find the horse you need to root for. Good Luck!!
